So I just realized that I haven't changed my journal in a while. I'm sure it was because I wanted to avoid having to type what I'm about to. I was hoping I could just keep that old journal up for awhile. Yeah so I found out that I didn't get into Perpich. To some people reading this, that is such old news but most of you don't know that yet. They offered to place me on the waiting list but I never got in touch with them about that. I don't think I want Perpich that bad anymore anyways, and it wouldn't be the same to get in from the wait list, though the chances of that happening are actually pretty high. A bunch of my friends who also tried out were accepted, and it'll suck not having them at Cooper next year, but they'd enjoy Perpich a lot more. As for me, I'm not minding Cooper all that much anymore and next year should be the best yet. I'll be having a choice of classes, and Journalism is a priority...that should rock really hard. I'm also going to take World Religions and I'm excited about that. woah and quitting band...? It's gotten excruciatingly boring/horrible lately and I wouldn't miss it at all.
Speaking of bands...I may be performing at the next Live at Tanner's with my ensemble, "One Night Stand." We aren't official yet and there's a good chance that we'll suck so we won't play at Tanner's, but we'll just have to wait and see. Ashley saw me play the drums and she said it was cool, and a confidence boost is always good.
I have a project for World History due on Tuesday that's a poster about entertainment on the homefront during World War Two, and I plan on doing something with photoshop for that one, so I may have more to post soon...
I guess that's all for my update...I'm deciding to end this one with a couple songs/bands that I feel you should check out.
-The Shins (My new passion, my ensemble may be covering one of their songs for Tanner's...?)
-Ruby Tuesday by The Rolling Stones (heck yes this song is just so great, there's not much else I could possibly express in words)
-Kashmir by Led Zeppelin (one of my favorites of their's, and I love Led Zeppelin probably more than any other band)
-Piano Man by Billy Joel (the music and lyrics are just so perfect in this song, and I highly recommend that you check it out)
-Trouble by Cat Stevens (gah such a great song)
And you must see Harold and Maude. The story is written wonderfully, the actors are great, and Bud Cort is hawt...cough. But really, it's every genre of film rolled into one movie and the entire soundtrack is purely Cat Stevens. Trouble is the song played in the finale and it goes so perfectly with the scene and the emotions and gah it's just wonderful. I love it every time I see it. Wow please try to find a way to see Harold and Maude.
